Electric fireplaces allow you to have a realistic looking fire in your home, without the need for a chimney or flue, and with minimal mess and cleaning.
Electric fireplaces are different compared to other types of fireplace, including traditional open fireplaces, wood burning stoves and gas fireplaces, as electric fireplaces don’t produce a real flame.
The electric fireplace that I’ll be using as an example throughout the article is a freestanding electric fireplace stove. Here’s a photo I took of it located inside my living room fireplace:
There are various types of electric fireplace from different manufacturers, and so the controls on my particular electric fireplace may not be exactly the same as those on another model. However, this article should give you a very good idea on how to use your own electric fireplace, as the main concept behind the components and controls are similar across all models.
